From Italy ..to Indonesia !!

Hi everybody ! We are an italian couple that 2 years ago decided to move to another country and start a new life ... we chose Indonesia (Jogjakarta) as our destination. 

Why Indonesia ?

... After having visited this country several times on our holidays over the years, we have been captivated by its beauty, its fascinating culture, by the simplicity and friendliness of its people and of course by a wonderful nature ! Therefore, we finally made up our minds ... Let's move to Indonesia ! 

Why did we choose to leave Italy ?

... Simply because we were fed up with the lifestyle, the system, and the quite unstable polical and economic situation of our country. It is getting harder nowadays to find a good and permanet job, not to mention the possibility to open our own business which is quite impossible now as the situation doesn't allow us to do much, taxes are too high and costs unbearable. We said to ourselves “This is the best time to get away, to move to another country where living costs are lower, where we can finally start up our business and can really enjoy our life ...” In Indonesia there are real opportunities to actually do something on our own, with a little capital we can do a lot !! Besides, the weather here is fantastic, forever summertime, the sea is amazing, and people are so friendly, there's no stress, life is simple, we just love it !!

... Now, we have been here for two years ! We learned bahasa indonesia by studying and of course practising everyday, as the knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian Language) is fundamental if you want to live here, in order to make friends and easily integrate into this community, thus we always strongly encourage those who wish to stay here (either for a long or short time) to dedicate some time to the learning of the language. We've made a good network of friends that really helped us integrate into the society well and support us, we consider them as our indonesian family. We bought a plot of land in the island of Karimunjawa, a wonderful place, it's paradise on earth, where we plan to build some bungalows and start a sort of homestay, bungalows rental. We have bought a house in Jogjakarta where we currently live, and 

opened a language school called SL Interlingua (Speaking License) where we provide courses of Bahasa Indonesia for foreigners at a really good price, much cheaper compared to other schools here in Jogja that are rather expensive. In addition we also assist our students with visa, accommodation, and provide travel packages for those who are interested in discovering the beauty of this island. We provide courses of english, italian, french, corean, Japanese and mandarin as well. And because Stefano is an excellent cook we also have a cooking course where we teach how to cook the real italian food as indonesians love it.

We are currently building our guesthouse in Jogjakarta. As this is a students city we thought “ why not opening a nice place where students and people who come to work here for a while, can stay ? ” so we hope that by the end of this

year 2014 we will finally get to open it.

Well, you see guys ... how many things we could do here that we could have never imagined doing in our country !!
